HIbachi!

Tonight, Ryan, Jackson, and I joined his family (Mom Scho, Dad Scho, Jaclyn, Rob, and Logan) for Hibachi (Japanese Steakhouse) and cake / presents for Ryan's birthday celebration! Jackson LOVED watching the chef cook in front of us at Hibachi! He seemed to get really frustrated if I didn't lift him high enough to see everything that was going on! He loved watching all of the steam going everywhere and the chef cooking all of the food. Granted, our chef wasn't the most animated hibachi chef I've had, but we all still had a blast!

BTW: Went to the GI doctor on Friday and Jackson weighed 11 pounds 8 ounces and measured 23 inches! :)

Ohio Excitement

Jackson is laughing!! The other day, I hit my head on a cabinet while unloading dishes in the kitchen. I heard Jackson making a noise that I thought was reflux...but then I looked over at him and he was smiling and laughing! Ever since then, he's been doing it quite often! Especially post-diaper changes when I tease him: "Jackson, did you pee-pee in your pants? Was it you? I know you did it!" :)

I also received word today that I am officially accepted to Kent State's Masters in Library and Information Science program for Spring 2011!! Come January, I will be taking the next step in my life and beginning to work towards my dream job! Becoming an academic librarian was always something I wanted to do, it was always the answer to Ryan's "Anna, If you could do anything in the world as a profession, what would it be?" question, and now, finally, I'm doing it! I would have never had the guts to move so far from home and begin working towards my dream if it weren't for Ryan and Jackson. Thanks to my men, so many of my dreams are coming true! (Goodness, I have to stop now before I make myself sick. Too much of this sappyness is weird.)

In other news, we took Jackson to see the urologist yesterday. He confirmed that Jackson has a testicular hernia and that he'll have to have surgery to repair it in December. I am very anxious about the operation, especially because he'll have to be completely put under and be intubated, but I know it is in Jackson's best interest. It still doesn't make me feel better that my little man is having yet another surgery. I keep you all posted on when the surgery is scheduled and any other information I find out about it.

The cats are loving Ohio. I think climbing up and down the stairs is good for them. :)

Ryan's birthday was yesterday. He turned 26 years old! We celebrated by going to dinner at Outback (just the three of us). Jackson and I made Ryan a card (he got a little teary at it...Jackson colored on it himself with my help), a pair of PJ pants, and a new hat. :)

With love,
Anna

Up in Ohio

Hi everyone! Just a quick update:

We are in Ohio! We arrived on Sunday (Ryan and his mom on Monday). In Atlanta, Grace escaped outside, Ryan had to chase her down, and was bit in the process of getting her back inside. As a result, it got infected and he has spent the last three days in the hospital. He was released yesterday afternoon. Last night was the first night we all spent at home in our new place.

The cats are all doing well. Jackson is doing well. Today is our first ped appointment up here. Hopefully we like them....though I know we won't like them as much as Dr. Traxler!

Love the new place.

More later!

With love,
Anna
