Ohio Excitement

Jackson is laughing!! The other day, I hit my head on a cabinet while unloading dishes in the kitchen. I heard Jackson making a noise that I thought was reflux...but then I looked over at him and he was smiling and laughing! Ever since then, he's been doing it quite often! Especially post-diaper changes when I tease him: "Jackson, did you pee-pee in your pants? Was it you? I know you did it!" :)

I also received word today that I am officially accepted to Kent State's Masters in Library and Information Science program for Spring 2011!! Come January, I will be taking the next step in my life and beginning to work towards my dream job! Becoming an academic librarian was always something I wanted to do, it was always the answer to Ryan's "Anna, If you could do anything in the world as a profession, what would it be?" question, and now, finally, I'm doing it! I would have never had the guts to move so far from home and begin working towards my dream if it weren't for Ryan and Jackson. Thanks to my men, so many of my dreams are coming true! (Goodness, I have to stop now before I make myself sick. Too much of this sappyness is weird.)

In other news, we took Jackson to see the urologist yesterday. He confirmed that Jackson has a testicular hernia and that he'll have to have surgery to repair it in December. I am very anxious about the operation, especially because he'll have to be completely put under and be intubated, but I know it is in Jackson's best interest. It still doesn't make me feel better that my little man is having yet another surgery. I keep you all posted on when the surgery is scheduled and any other information I find out about it.

The cats are loving Ohio. I think climbing up and down the stairs is good for them. :)

Ryan's birthday was yesterday. He turned 26 years old! We celebrated by going to dinner at Outback (just the three of us). Jackson and I made Ryan a card (he got a little teary at it...Jackson colored on it himself with my help), a pair of PJ pants, and a new hat. :)

With love,
Anna

  1. Isn't Jackson's laughter your favorite noise in the whole world? I know when Zachary laughs, it makes me so happy I almost cry--every time. And his toothless smile is the sweetest thing in the world.

  2. Totally agree. I spend so much of my day just trying to get him to laugh. I look around at the millions of boxes I have to still unpack, the clothes on the floor that needs washing, and all of the furniture that still needs to be put together, get stressed out, and then hear his laugh and forget all about it! :)
