Too Much Craziness!

The past few weeks have been too crazy! So many things have happened!:

1. Jackson had another swallow study done at the pediatric radiology center in Alpharetta. He is, yet again, aspirating his food! I had suspected this for a few weeks now (he was refusing to eat again, crying through feeds, back arching, and had decreased his intake per feed to less than he was taking in the hospital! I could barely get him to take an ounce every 3 hours!) They discovered that he was aspirating up to 6cc simply thick per ounce. They said it is very rare to have to increase this thickener over time (usually they decrease it!) So, this means that we're increasing it by another cc per ounce and then we meet later today with his GI doctor to talk over other details. He is finally eating better and enjoying feeds, but he still isn't taking as much as the doctor wants daily. So, we'll see.

2. We're moving!!! Ryan and I have been packing like crazy people over the last two weeks (which is why I haven't blogged in a while) so that we can (hopefully!) move at the end of the month to Ohio! I have completed my grad school application for Kent State, so I can begin grad school in the spring! Woo Hoo! We have found a place to live up there, so we are just waiting to rent our house down here!

3. Jackson, Ryan, and I have been helping my parents out at the fair. It's beautiful weather, and Jackson just loves all of the excitement!

4. Jackson can roll over from his back to his front! He still isn't smiling at me regularly, but we're working on it. He usually just smiles at me when he's semi-sleepy, but he won't smile when we're playing together. I'm not, officially, beginning to worry because this is defintely delayed (even using his corrected age). I hope he starts smiling regularly in the next two weeks, otherwise I'll ask at his next ped appt!

5. Hannah is still with us, but she is very sick. We woke up and found a good bit of blood coming from her mouth yesterday, but once we cleaned her up she was fine! She is still getting into trouble, eating, and running around. I'm cautiously hopeful. I'll take her back to the vet today.

6. My endocrinologist discovered that I no longer have hyperthyroidism, but now I have hypothyroidism! He officially diagnosed me with postpartum thyroiditis (instead of Grave's Disease), but he isn't sure if my thyroid will regain function or if it is too damaged. So, I go back today to see him because I've gained 10 pounds in a week! I'm at the point where I'm ready to say "Just remove the dang thing and I'll take a pill for the rest of my life!" ::sigh:: Answers, please!

7. Another reason I haven't updated in so long (espeically in terms of pictures) is because I spilled orange juice all over my purple Mac (the computer I use) and Ryan had to order me a new one. So, I'm using his computer until I get mine in the mail. ::sigh:: :(

8. When Jackson went to the ped last week he weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces! Not bad for a 6 week old (corrected!) :)

With love,

Anna
